Please just start reading it and enjoy getting lost in the emotional rollercoaster, and the incredible parallels between our own behavior and that of the birds. I have an interest in birds and nature, but it really is so much more than that.

I remember finding parts of the book desperately sad first time around, and the same applies for the second read through. This book was bought for me by a friend.

Have just finished reading this book and I absolutely loved it, you don’t have to have any prior knowledge of birds to appreciate the gorgeous writing and obvious passion from the author. It’s also one of the prettiest books I’ve seen, the cover deserves a special mention. A journey through grief, acceptance and a lesson in rekindling our relationship with the natural world around us. If I could give it an extra star I would!
A perfect gift or a good investment. Can't recommend it enough.
But there is an incredibly positive side to this book, which seems to become more evident the more times you delve in for a read. Update: November 23I've reread this book recently after a tough year with the bereavement of a close friend and relative.
