There is no protection on the AirTag itself which is not the fault of the case, just design. I did this because when the white AirPod case themselves are inside this case, you can’t tell there’s an AirTag installed so maybe this would prevent someone from removing and stealing your expensive AirPods. If you flip the cover up you can see the battery/charge light if you're checking to see if it's charging.

My AirPods Pro’s are so snug and secure inside this case. Awesome product designs, however I do not like that the top is just attached by a sticker as sticker gets loose overtime through heat and cold temperatures which may fall off. It did come with extra tape which was nice, but you don’t necessarily need it.
