Every step in this relationship felt earned, every setback warranted, and when they finally came together, the sparks were flying (literally). I was there, and every time I opened this book, I was part of its story. She didn't have to.

10/10 would recommend (it has sexy dragons; what more could you want? Once I got lost in the immersive writing style, I couldn't put the book down. The pacing is on the slow side, but I loved the way this gave us such solid development for the characters and their romance. My final thoughts are that Everen has my heart and that I'm desperate to read more.

AND THE MAGIC! The tension between Arcady and Everen is a palpable force that glues you to every sentence. Do yourself a favor and READ IT!

! One of the things that really stood out to me was the queernorm world and the world building It was exceptional, but I have to admit that it did take a bit of effort to get into it. Sorin's POV was a little less easy but it carried a small yet important thread.

The characters in the book are so well written, and I mean really well written. The book certainly delivers on the sweeping high fantasy front, but what surprised me were the cozy elements that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The first 20% of the book is pretty intense, with a lot of world-building and narration, but trust me when I say it's worth it.
