In use the sticks grip end is fatter than the 5A size stick that I would normally use. I have always found that the series Rods from Promark brings a tremendous amount of texture in their use.

They are thicker than a normal stick. There is a plastic sleeve set part way down the shaft of the dowel bundle. They work fantastic, great sound and expression in lower dynamic situations.

They have worked great live, in the studio, or even for a low level practice or rehearsal. Solid quality and a great product. You cannot adjust the end splay of the rods.
