A+ I like and understand the idea of tracking where the ball hits the face at impact, and how it affects contact and distance.

Just a step by step process for understanding how golfers of all levels actually play and how we can give ourselves the best chance at a satisfying outcome. Today I shot 79 with 39 putts- zero double bogies. The book offers you a chance to take an honest and critical look at your game and provides a good perspective on better practice habits, playing strategy and enjoyment on the golf course.

He focuses on developing skill and transferring that skill to the course with Strategy (Part 2), including course management, proximity, shot patterns, course study, pre- and post-shot routines, and mental analysis. Somehow Jon has managed to take all that knowledge spread over hundreds of articles and hours of podcasts, and he has managed to distill it into an easy-to-read and thoroughly enjoyable book that speaks to all levels of golfer. I liked the order of topics presented in the book and I appreciated the summary/recap of important points at the end of each chapter. Jon's book is a refreshing view and valuable resource for the golfer looking to enjoy the game more and improve without looking to a swing guru to give you the magic elixir.

If you’re new to the game, this book will save you years (or even decades) of frustration. Oh, and don’t measure myself against the guys on TV!

That word – enjoyment – is what makes “The Four Foundations of Golf” a must-have textbook for those golfers who want to get back to the joy of the game we had in our youths. Can't wait to put this approach to use in my weekly game. Jon also quickly responded with generosity to a personal request.
