Usage
After hardening, it can be sanded, drilled, and painted with water-based acrylic colors. Super Sculpey is used by movie animation studios and professionals worldwide. It is semi-transparent beige in colour and can be sanded, drilled, carved and even painted with water-based acrylics, after it has hardened in the oven. Its ceramic-like feel and semi-transparent beige color provide an authentic skin-like surface. Easy to shape and remains soft until baked at 130 degrees Celsius. Features Baking can be done in any standard oven, and since Sculpey doesn't air dry, it's also great for beginners who can add new soft Sculpey over hard-baked Sculpey. Shatter and chip resistant.

- Store in room temperature
- Bake the clay in a regular oven at 130 degrees Celsius (275 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 minutes per 6 mm thickness.

I recently purchased a couple of silicone moulds used mainly for icing sugar work, so was intrigued to see how clay would work. Bakes in the oven, coold quickly and is like solid hard plastic, not fragile at all. We have made two sculptures for school homework projects.

I love the fact it doesn’t dry out, though it’s pretty hard initially from the box, but it soon softens as you manipulate it with your hands. I found I could sand off the excess when cold too.

I also purchased a pack of flesh tone Fimo air dry clay and then this Sculpey Polymer Clay in beige that you bake. I am very new to clay modelling, though I had dabbled briefly with air dry clay many years ago. Very pleased This is my favourite brand and type of polymer clay to make miniatures.

Especially the metallic gold! It allows for fine details and it can be painted. My little clay figures are babies and I’m very happy with the skin tone. First time use clay or did sculpture .

Got 3 of them. They heated up and didn’t burn and went smooth and hard when cold. Alas, I kept getting this strangely plastic-wrapped clay, with a dinosaur figurine, instead of the cardboard box with the seahorse.

It remains soft and needs little conditioning. So I went into research mode. And also, great to be able to order on Amazon, receive it in 2 days over here in the Republic of Ireland, and it's a great price.
