The drunken antics of Fin with the King and his close advisors was one of my favorite parts of this book with the shenanigans they got up to. The writing style adds to the whimsy of this tale and despite the book’s length, it was a pretty quick read. I loved all of his interactions with his kitchen staff as well as the effect he has on people, whether it’s the Knights he’s forcing to reform, his fumbling with Lady Jenoure, or the adorable Prince.

Overall, I loved this book and recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, whimsical fantasy mystery. ”✨✨Royal cook, Fin, is happy with his role. Fin is a witch, a house witch. The slow burn between Fin and Annika was also worth holding out for.

The banter between Fin and the mage made for some truly hilarious scenes. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. This is a truly heartwarming tale of all around good guy Fin, even if he has the emotional range of a chicken. “Why is everything to do with that witch both helpful and annoying?

✨✨Delemhach created the perfect cozy, fantasy mystery. The plot moved fairly quickly adding to the feel of the quick read. With his familiar Kraken, Fin keeps the knights in line, protects the queen, irritates the royal mage, and hunts for spies. I also adored the Prince’s interactions with Fin and Kraken.

A great story and quality cover art by an up-and-coming author, I'm looking forward to their next work!
