Only downside I would say is that the odd bit of plastic can be found inside the bags, so you need to throughly check it beforehand. I used to use a different brand and my hamsters never burrowed and it was dusty and not very soft, I love this bedding so do my hamsters they love burrowing I have very deep bedding, it does stop any smells and is so soft. I was concerned about this but Amazon were excellent and fixed the problem for me. Swapped from another brand to give this a try.

I still had a brand new bag ofcthis bedding so brought it in to give to a friend. It gives him quite a bit of burrow space and it holds his tunnels really well. It was soft and didn't get into their eyes like some wood shavings did.
