I also loved the touch of romance in the book—I’m a sucker for romances. So this book took me a while to get my head into, there is a lot of sailing terms used and I did have to look up a few things but once she managed to get off the island I was hooked! Now, she needs to grab her inheritance and figure out what to do next, but she doesn't know that her enemy is closer that she could have ever expected. I was actually quite surprised by how much I really enjoyed reading Fable.

Fable was just SO good. 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Recommend ✅ Her intonations were easy to follow and even more easy to separate from who was talking at the moment. I can’t wait to see what happens on Fables continued adventure.

However, when she meets her father after years, it's not like what she had expected. The moment this book started it was like a movie in my head. After being abandoned to an island by her father, Fable has to grow up and quickly if she wants to survive. There is just something about fantasy books set at sea which I cannot get enough of.

All of a sudden at the end bam some love intentions spring up! I don’t think it is built up enough and I just didn’t feel it in the earlier parts of the book which I felt could have pushed it up in the a 5 star for me. I'm curious to see what happens next to Fable, and if she can get her HEA with West.

After years of diving in the sea, she earns enough money to escape the island on the ship of West, a trader with whom she has been trading the items she found at the bottom of the sea. So when I wasn’t sure how I felt about “Fable” it stayed on my bookshelf and never-ending TBR list. I had so many different emotions while reading ranging from distraught from Fable’s bleak circumstances and broken relationship with her father to elated that she found her own “family” in the crew of the Marigold. Oh my goodness !
