I painted an old bureau in Frenchic chalk paint, but didn't want to seal it with wax: the surface was left patchy and not durable at all when I used wax before. It’s easy to apply and gives a fabulous Matt finish. A little goes a long way, no awful smell, applies really easy, dries quickly.

WillDefinitely be using it again. Decided to give this a try, bought a 500ml bottle which did three coats on a 9’square metre wall. It also dries very quickly - I could put back the items on the oak shelf I used it on, in a very short while.

I have been doing a pine fireplace surround DIY project. Advertised as clear, but when I painted bottom half of wall it showed as two different shades. I've since been told whole wall requires painting not part of wall. It is colourless and has a Matt finish.

My husband splashed coffee over it and I wiped it clean off. 1/ wallpapered the back risers of my stairs and used this to protect the wallpaper.

and they didn't stick to the shelf, unlike with Danish oil or other paints. Brilliant product.

To get a matt finish you need to dispense what you need into a bowl and stir until we'll mixed (don't shake), as per the instructions on the bottle, otherwise you might be left with a sheen on your finish Didn't change or darken the white chalk paint either. Left a very subtle sheen and is smooth to the touch. Paint seems locked in well and still retains it's natural look.

I then varnished all the shelves and I’m really pleased with the end result. Returned it to Matt finish and can wipe off marks/ muck left dogs. True matt finish. The flat matt has a slight sheen, but less than an eggshell paint.
