I haven’t programmed it to come on at certain times yet. I agree with a lot of the reviews that say it's good, but believe some of them are a bit too praising. What makes this fan great is how crazy silent it is coupled with its versatility all within a compact footprint. From the remote you can make it go horizontally and vertically and adjust height.

The carry strap is robust. Plugged it in, pressed the on switch and a gentle cooling breeze began. At first glance you may think this fan is expensive but it’s the best portable fan I’ve ever had. There were two reviews by companies that pitched it as almost equal to a Dyson.

It has different modes and you can pre set for on and off but I've never bothered. It can oscillate in two directions (horizontally and vertically) and you can set it to do either one or the other or both. Our lounge diner is approx 23’ x 12’ and on heigh setting this fan benefits from one end to the other. Having used noisy fans in the bedroom in the past I was dramatically surprised to see and hear how quiet this thing is.

Perfect for apartment living where it can be hard to create a cross breeze naturally. - The fan IS powerful, but I've definitely wanted it more powerful to fill a room as it can still struggle to reach sometimes. At its topmost the fan was fully above the level of the mattress. Slight gripe - I thought it was made in England as a Union flag on box, only to discover surprise, surprise it’s made in China.

The current room temperature appears on the display whilst in this mode and in standby. There is a table in the manual with temperature ranges and the fan speed applied (1-12 speed settings). This is fine if you're all awake, but I use mine in bed, and my partner is not a heavy sleeper, so it isn't convenient. All this being said, it is a good fan and I would recommend it, but it's good to know the negatives before you buy.

Yes theres some raised buttons but why make it harder than it has to be? It is important to take in mind that although there are much more expensive fans out there, the Meaco fan IS still expensive, and has some frustrating design elements which I wouldn't expect for this price. If you are pointing the remote slightly above the fan at night, it won't work. Pics 2 shows the white base and pic 3 is the remote.
