I don’t have much experience of the contemporary ghost story genre, but I can now see why it has so many fans! Despite being scary, it is also highly entertaining and relatable to me as a mum. Just finished reading this fabulous ghost story #TheTollHouse and started Googling images of Welsh toll houses - the perfect setting for this gripping & propulsive tale where Victorian gothic horror intrudes on everyday modern life. highly recommend!
I loved the complex plot with red herrings and a creeping sense of doom! Looking forward to more by the same author .
