' Reader Review 'A really impressive story and the ending was totally unexpected, which is something that always impresses me with this type of book. As her symptoms become more terrifying, she can't help but wonder what exactly is growing inside her.

Some readers feel the author uses the book to rally against The Patriarchy. It guides us through our own pain as we identify with the protagonist. The maternal death rate has more than doubled in the past 20 years.

The physician and our husbands nod blankly as we bare our souls. But everything fell into place for me with one sentence “this isn’t a curse…it’s a gift” A must read!

It's the story of her rather shallow husband, friends who may not be friends, physicians who do their best, though their best falls short. It's a terrifying book because there is so much truth between the covers. The Judeo-Christian reasoning is that a woman should suffer during pregnancy and childbirth, and suffer we do - right down to dying unnecessarily from complications that are not taken seriously.
