Easily lasts over a week between charges as my daughter plays with it for about 5 minutes at a time- possibility to use 2 different track configurations. This is not too much of an issue however as the train is extremely slow so relatively safe. Very easy to flick the switch to set it moving.
I've had no issues with the train working on my carpet Pros:- Nice colours- Seems sturdy- Easy to put together- Very slow which is safe as my daughter likes gets on and off it while it is moving- Battery life is good.
