The 4 effect presets might help in specific circumstances / with specific mics or voices. Host and Guest each get their own 1/4” headphone outs and volume knobs and, surprisingly, they’re great. The auto gain function is invaluable, though it takes a little while to settle on a level so you need to remember to do this before joining an online call (note to self). The Vocaster Two's dimensions are a bit funky due to the tapered sides, but it's roughly 2" tall including the dials, and measures 8.

The gain goes quite loud, but the Vocaster Two does add it's own noise, especially past 80%. It's really convenient to have the hardware gain, mute and volume controls so accessible and the built-in effects add a nice broadcast-style resonance to my voice. honestly, I’m not a fan. They struggled with Fostex T50rp too.

It just misses out on 5 stars because it’s not quite perfect but I would still be VERY happy if I turned up to a recording session and someone pulled this out. At this price point, I don't expect the headphone jacks to be 100%, but I did expect a bit better performance out of the microphone inputs. I was able to have a sensitive, low impedance headphone like the AKG K371 plugged into one port, and a high impedance (250ohm) Beyerdynamic 770 Pro plugged into the other, and controlled volume on either one independently.

The media could not be loaded. The Beyerdynamic 770s in 250 ohms sounded fine though, so higher impedance headphones that need higher power seem to work fine.

When you plug it in, it acts like a thumb-drive and has some files you can open, including some links to get started with the online drivers. On the surface, the Vocaster One has a gain knob with more than 70dB at hand along with a volume knob to adjust the perfect levels for monitors and headphones.

It is pretty well plug and play, with or without the software. I managed to find this at a great price and it's now replaced the bigger audio interface on my desk as my daily tool for voice recording and video conferencing.
Hyperiox
But you can't use their software. There are mute buttons (handy) and also an “effects” button.
