And will it involve cork-soled sandals? Ten years on from the events of 'The Miseducation of Evie Epworth', Evie is settled in London and working as a production assistant for the BBC. It's sure to be another hit. ' Joannna Nadin, author of The Double Life of Daisy Hemmings'Taylor's writing is sublime, effortlessly combining humour with pathos and spot-on period detail while sensitively exploring themes such as loss, grief, love and death. Through it all, Evie is left wondering whether a 60s miseducation really is the best preparation to glide into womanhood and face the new challenges (strikes, power cuts, Edward Heath's teeth) thrown up by the growing pains of the 70s. 'A golden ray of sunshine. Can a 1960s miseducation prepare her for the growing pains of the 1970s? The perfect book for our times. It's the UK"s most up to date list with over 180 prides taking place in 2024. ' Yorkshire Post'A thoroughly uplifting and unputdownable sequel to the bestselling The Miseducation of Evie Epworth.

I loved the 1960's setting, I loved the characters, I loved the whole book! I really enjoyed the format of switching between the current day for Evie and the flashbacks to the past where we found out more about her Mother, it just flowed so well and I thought it all came together seamlessly well.

My bookworm life

Evie has a big heart, and she leaves a positive impression on those around her. In between each chapter there are little interludes of Arthur and Diana's life and I absolutely loved the way this 'past' storyline was set out. She lives on a small farm in Yorkshire with her dad, Arthur, and Christine, the gold-digging housekeeper. π„π±πœπ’ππžπ.

’-The story of Diana's life, and death, are revealed slowly through the book, and Matson utilises structure well in exposing the truth of what happened. -The storyline between Evie's neighbour, Mrs Scott-Pym, and her daughter Caroline, was also told skillfully and tactfully. It’s all about having the courage to embrace life’s opportunities, and having a great time doing just that.

-𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐑𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐭 𝐒𝐬. Oh I have my fingers crossed that this is the start of a new series starring 16 year old, tall as a tree Yorkshire lass, Evie Epworth. Evie is a strong, quirky and one of a kind characters who was a pleasure to read.
