This book has me hooked the mystery, the suspense, the ridiculous and frustrating nature to certain plots. In terms of the story it certainly was heartwarming and uplifting with an interesting premise. I’ve returned all that to my English literature teacher 😳), reminds me of a book by Swedish author! When he meets Lou something clicks for Edgar, he's not sure what it is about this woman but he trusts her and he wants her help.

I will definitely read more by the author and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to read Promise Me - a fun, cosy romp! I probably will love her work for a long time. Lou was so endlessly patient and selfless. It was peppered with warmth, humour, emotion and intrigue and I loved reading it.

The setting of Foxwell was idyllic and I could easily picture the big house and Sammy and Remy's cosy cottage, Captain Oates and all the characters. However, that isn't technically true, after a recent trip visiting friends, she made acquaintances with a grumpy old man who's behaviour she struggled to condone. Overall the novel is a fantastic read and any fans of Jill's previous work are in for a real treat with her latest hit! I really enjoyed this read, from start to finish, it has many twists and turns which keep you hooked.
