The video quality from both the dashcam itself, and (if purchased) the extra rear view camera are fantastic. My only two gripes are 1.

I refitted this after the cable was in place, but put it at the other end of the cable so it didn't put strain on the micro USB. that the instructions say to charge it for at least two hours before use, however the internal battery is pretty redundant as it lasted for less than ten minutes.

Not a problem if using a secure mounting with the adhesive pad and adaptor. I brought this as a replacement to a 312. Since buying the original camera in August 2014, I have covered 155,000 miles (review date September 2019), so it has seen a lot of use. The quick start guides are not really good enough, especially when compared with the vast amount of options available shown in the full manual.

Battery doesn’t last long for parking mode, and their car kit only cuts off a permanent live when the battery is effectively dead, so can only realistically use a switched live. Playback of recorded files is good, especially with the dual display option in the computer based player. Had this for a few years, not had any major issue.

I will say the app takes ages to link to the camera, which isnt all that great. The Nextbase dash cams also have a app that you can connect to and download footage directly from your dash cam. I was able to route the power cable in the same manor and lilacs add the previous cable.

It does say this in the instructions etc but any previous dashcams I've used are 3 min cycle recording. Low is fine for a normal softly suspended family balloon. Everything works as advertised. The images are excellent, especially those from the front camera with the polarising filter cutting out reflections off the windscreen.

The connectivity through WiFi from mobile app to the camera is always dropping. The on-line instruction manual pdf and firmware update support are both good, and it has a reasonable menu system and user interface on a good touch panel display. I hoped that I'd be able to simply pull the HDMI cable between the roof lining and body in the car, but it got stuck halfway.
