Folks if you put your tent away damp, it collects mold, it can damage the fabric, it can make the the tent stink among many other things. I would recommend the additional footprint and internal carpet for the cosy sake. But any carpet will do! Coleman discontinued loads of their awnings and if you want to cook in poor weather, you are a bit stuck as the porch is tiny.
Either learn to look after a tent correctly or don’t buy one! I don’t recommend putting it up in 50mph winds, but credit to it when this storm popped up suddenly it stood up to the winds and the pelting rain like a champ! It’s taken a few poundings from fairly awful weather including a last minute yellow warning and terrible rain in Dorset.
Your damp and fabric disintegrating is your fault, not Coleman’s. Easy to put up, easy to take down, easy to pack away in its bag. It’s rather small and no additional awnings can fit this tent.
Excellent airflow and keeps as cool as a tent can be. I’ve had this tent out 10+ times in the past two years and it’s still like new. The rooms are pitch dark even in direct sun.
Put away dry and clean, a nice water resistant treatment every few months and voila. I’m going to come to the aid of this tent having read some reviews. Otherwise the living space is excellent in both the main area and bedrooms.
Anyway, a fantastic bit of kit and ignore the reviews of mould and fabric issues, people just don’t know how to look after their kit! My only criticism of this tent is the porch area. I also pair my camping up with my Jackery 1000 and solars and can stay pretty much anywhere.
