I have nothing to compare it with, I use it for steaks to give at least some charcoal smell and it does quite well. I keep one grate on right hand side and just a box on the other side. Very easy to use. Fire the grill, load the soaked chips, indirect heat and watch temp.

Super impressed! The media could not be loaded. Next time I will try using aluminum foil on the bottom of the box that may help fighting the flame. Gives enough smoke for pork candy and reverse searing.

Wood chips get a lot of flame even soaked in water, so you have to be prepared for it and be ready with a spray bottle. Works well. I used Kingsford premium blend mixed chips and the taste and smell of the steaks/shrimps/asparagus were great and have that off-the-grill taste. Enjoying using hickory, a lot of smoke.

I put this box on my Weber Q 2200 grill and a lot of smoke came out from the box and it's great. See the pictures. ! After the smoker chips started to flame up, the box lid warped a tiny bit at one of the unhinged corner but otherwise still close and open without problems.

My wood chunks seem to fit good UPD: Cherry gets flame, hickory is good and I don't see flames. I look forward to many years of use.
