I just hope the rest of the books in the series are as good - I couldn't put my Kindle down. .
There is plenty of intrigue to keep the reader guessing. This is book #1 of the 6 episode Inspector Ramsay tales. Inspector Ramsay investigates the hanging of a much disliked headmaster in his own school playground. Ann Cleeves is one of my favourite crime authors although she's perhaps better known for her Shetland and Vera series.
