This pacy, unputdownable story builds with a subtly that's unnerving, the tension ratcheting up to an unbearably climatic denouement. All in all this was without doubt one of my most enjoyable reads of the year! A great mystery thriller that keeps you guessing!

Parker takes everything a psychological thriller should have: an original idea and a superb plot told exceptionally well by realistic and expertly described characters. The idea of trusting your partner and friends with your deepest, darkest secret during a dinner party game, when the booze is flowing and everyone's feeling a little nervous is a great premise for an excellently thrilling story. Loose lips and paranoia, panic and fault-finding, everyone blaming each other for your friends murder, convinced you know who killed them. I could not stop reading until I learned who did it and why, and had no preconceived ideas, though I'm sure if I had they' have been wrong.
I gave it four stars, and would definitely read another novel from this author.
