So often with these real life accounts its the interesting details that get missed. I don’t suppose she would get security clearance if she was dodgy and the jobs sounded too awful for her to withstand three years! Gritty.

Not so in "Geezers". I loved it

If you ever wondered what you'd say if you had the chance to sit down and talk with someone from the SAS then here it is. It’s surprising how many little ‘scenes’ you can go trough again and re imagine them like the Memorial Garden or the coffee shop on camp when she writes about letting ‘endangered species back into the wild’ when they open the patio doors! This book is like when you learn the secret behind a magic trick!
Was she a mole, working there? Brilliant book, I’ve bought 3 more for my family ( military) in Cyprus. Let me start by saying this: I don't think anyone else could write a book like this.
It perfectly filled in the missing piece of what the lives of our elite soldiers is REALLY like. Real.
I can picture the characters and scenes even now - "Pistol Pete" ('because after 5 minutes with him you want to shoot yourself') , the squadron doing shots all night long in the bowling alley, and the REALITY of what it would be like on camp with the world's most lethal soldiers. Good luck to “Monica Lavers” I found the style very intimate, and the pace was perfect. The whole world of the SAS comes alive!
This one drew me in from the get-go. All power to a woman! What I liked was seeing the bits the SAS probably wouldn’t notice about themselves. I felt the grim nature of it all.
