To be honest the monocular suits me very well with no apparent downside. I highly recommend this monocular telescope, beats a pair of binoculars where you get double vision and have to mess around until you get them focused, where as with monoculars it's straight to your eye and focus them. When in a subject-rich environment you can carry this already attached to a monopod, drop the legs and be in business in a matter of seconds.

Also comes with a strap which when fixed to monocular, it can be adjusted to fit your hand. The first photo is take without the monocular, the lighthouse is about half a mile away. FIVE STARS and well worth every penny. Normally use for bird watching etc and find image clear with excellent field of view.

If you look at my three photos taken from the top of the Eiffel Tower, my target is the Arc de Triomph. The eye cap is free, but i have tied it with some strong fishing line.

The phone attachment works well. But could be fiddly if you were to use it with large and heavy phones. Photos taken with a Huawei P20 pro. The smart phone holder is easy to slide on and off the monocular, if it is already set up with the phone.
