About this deal
Call us on: +442033020460 With a cabinetmaker father and a mother who knitted, quilted, and did Scandinavian decorative painting known as rosemaling, Mary Giles (1944–2018) seemed destined to work creatively with her hands. While RAM has been acquiring Gile's work since the early 2000s through gifts from donors, Collection Focus: Mary Giles is the first time these pieces have been brought together in a single gallery. Revered for her willingness to push the boundaries of form and concept, Giles made objects throughout her career that reflected her interest in materials and traditional basketmaking techniques. This full-color, 16-page exhibition catalogue features essays on the significance of Mary Giles' work along with representative images from the museum's permanent collection. 71 Balham High Road, Balham, SW12 9AP

I love these two on gogglebox and this book certainly doesn't disappoint! Only a third way through, but it's witty, quirky and intelligentl, just like the diarists!
