We discover more about Maud’s tragic and haunted life after she encounters Dr Dimmond, a new doctor willing to try hypnosis. What an enthralling gothic thriller! I'm really interested and curious to know what further novels this author will write because I think this was so well written, so beautiful and detailed. "Maud or Mary?

I had read the sample on Amazon before purchasing it and read all of the sample, and really wanted to carry on reading it, so of course I bought it immediately, it arrived the day after. What we recall is the truth - as we see it. I very rarely leave reviews, especially for books, but I had to with this one!

Slowly we uncover pieces of her past through these hypnosis sessions, which are presented as if they were happening there and then, we live them with Maud as if newly happening. Contrary to what some other reviews have said, I never found the descriptions too much, nor that it was overly repetitive, I believe it was well balanced.

The past is like that. ! I was totally absorbed it’s a must read ! Hypnosis reveals the reason that Maud comes to be in the asylum, as well as her life before the asylum which she struggles to remember initially.
