I doubt you'd be able to transplant anything but seedlings in these, as root systems do not fit. I discovered that these self-watering pots and growing lights works well, seeds started growing better then I expected. Checking the water level is extremely easy with the convenient window on each planter. However, they are much shorter than anticipated - the water reservoir at the bottom takes about an inch out of the total height.

Love the self-watering feature. So far, I’ve been able to keep everything alive and going strong and the boxes seem sturdy enough to withstand the elements. Great value, no better product out there so far! Excellent watering system, everything.

I successfully started herbs in these, and the basil is especially doing well. I keep these planters on a shelf in my house and they have been working great with a grow light. The colors are cute and help me keep track of which herbs I put into each.

I purchased two sets of these to line the inside of two outdoor flower boxes that were installed by the previous owners of our home. Would recommend, but make sure it will work for what you want. The boxes were custom built and are an irregular size - about 5” deep and 33 inches wide with no drainage and it was almost impossible to find anything that fit in them.
