You can see the damage in the photo! Ron Needle’s story had me in silent tears. What a book. I read the last chapter while sat in the back of a Herc flying into Baghdad last night.
This book is an incredible tribute to the Lancaster and all those associated with it. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone - even those with only a fleeting interest in history, aviation, WW2 or simply tales of daring do. So moving. The ending was particularly powerful.
