Seems to be a random behavior as sometimes it automatically picks up that everything is already plugged in, and delivers gigabit speeds. The 5 gbps USB-C port is great as well.

No matter what the price is Thunderbolt4 compatible products, there are few items, all of them are expensive, and there are no inventory at home electronics stores, Creator-Z16-A11UET Is only compatible with thunderbolt4, so I was in trouble. It was a great help. As you will see the performance with the hub is essentially the same as directly plugging it in to the computer, as access times make the meaningful difference and not max throughput.
The Thunderbolt Control Center is not visible, just like in the picture. Top-left is Apple’s proprietary onboard NVMe device; top-right is a cheap WD Blue NVMe in an external enclosure; and the same model NVMe in an identical external enclosure running through the 5 gbps port on this hub you are considering, is on the bottom-left. Please see the picture for some performance tests of NVMe drives. This really isn’t important though because the need for 5 gbps sustained reads are rare, while the need for microsecond access to many small files is much more important for improving perceived and actual responsiveness and speed.
