The time loop element was complex and well executed, and the characters relatable. However, the choice is perfect for a hardback edition - so clear and easy to read which really helps to set the pace. No one is perfect but even the less-than perfect souls have redeeming features.

That said, for me, this novel is a study of a family in crisis. The plotting and McAllister's ability to pull together all the strands of this time-travelling story is ingenious. I can cite a pun on the title, this book arrived in my hands at the right place and the right time - I was unwell, sitting around a lot, so could not have been a better read to occupy my attention.

The ever-building series of plot twists are truly remarkable in creativity and plausibility. ”Jen lives this life, talks you through this life and unfolds missing segments of her own past. McAllister's novels are high-concept thrillers and, due to her background as a lawyer, usually have a legal element. The premise of the book is so unique, I’ve never read a book that involved time travel before, and I think the idea of going back in time to stop a crime from happening is such an interesting idea!
