Schwartz’s internal family systems is distinctive from other therapeutic approaches, such as DBT or CBT, in that it is more accepting of strong negative emotions and seeks to allow them and understand them rather than dispute them. I am writing the review just to let people know that the book doesn't open on the physical Kindle reader. The reason I only gave 4 stars, however, is that this book was really written for the clinician rather than the patient but the title/cover doesn’t make that clear.

The book lays out the main ideas of IFS in a way that is concise and easy to understand. It opens on Kindle reader for Mac and for Android.
