I like the relationship she shares with Simon as JD but sometimes I feel like this JD is a bit too nice. Ailsa is one of my favourite Veronica's so it is great to see her portrayal filmed for DVD. I was already a fan of his work in the musical Legally Blonde and his work in Heathers is just as good, if not better. I don't mind seeing the audience every now and then but when it's in the middle of the scene it's a little distracting.
For this reason I much prefer the musical as it adds to an already great film and makes it even more perfect. There isn't even a scene that starts at the start of Act 2. The scene selection doesn't even take you to a specific song, it seems to be all very random.
