The gauge adjusts to various sizes such as 10mm for 100mm-240mm reveals and is desgined for the thickness of the James Hardie boards (8mm). All you need to do is clamp a pair of Gecko Gauges to the siding course of your fibre cement cladding letting them gauge and prop the next course of nailing. It can be used with 5/16 in fiber-cement siding products, including James Hardie's updated HZ5 Series with new eased drip-edge profile. Please note this product is not suitable for use on curved surfaces, breathable tile or marble, tiles with a deep pattern, cement, paper wall or leather surfaces. I seen no need to modify the tool as others have demonstrated, although my project was small, and I could see the plastic getting weak in time and with “employee abuse”. Placing and removing them was simple and they didn't mar the fragile boards in any way.

The geckos are great for attaching panels to hsus They were even incredibly helpful even when I had help and ensured that the spacing on the boards was perfect.

Add this to your cart and move onto other tasks. It's simple to change the spacing and they held even 12'/20lb boards with ease. As modified, the Gecko gauge worked perfectly with no slipping and no gap problems for an entire building. It is a bit expensive but provides perfect alignment every time and held 12’ pieces without issue.
