It showed furniture and books of jewish citizens of my german hometown just before they were burned on the marketplace in front of the townhall. Words can barely describe what happened next. “All the horror that happened to Lily and her family and so many others could not be imagined by those who have not been there but we shall never forget…My own experience of those shocking happenings was a photo in a local german paper 10 years ago.

I hope one day I can meet you or a family member and hear it in person. All I can say is I haven’t had the book for more than 4 hrs and already read almost half. Lily’s promise is moving and superbly written, it offers definitive insight into this appalling history. I highly recommend anyone to get this book and read it.
