I didn’t expect it to be the kind of weight that makes you cry and then inspires courage and hope. As a reader, I really felt like I was being sucked into this town, and began to evaluate different aspects of my life in the same way the author dissects the characters’ lives. Honestly this book deserves the hype and I was so surprised and happy that I loved this book as much as bookstagram did. The community rose to defend its town and the desire for justice (or was it revenge?

This book is about so much more than just a small town who loves hockey, it’s about community, values, and culture. Great read

I savoured every paragraph in the last few chapters. Too many voices feels messy and the quality of the story decreases drastically.
