That was the main thing that attracted me to the annotation initially. However, what I liked most of all was the association of Steven's emotions with superpowers that were very different and interesting. All the time we follow Steven who is trying to control his emotions and powers and I liked the development. There was a moment in the book where she wanted to find out if he was gay and immediately put a label on him and that I definitely didn't like it.
The ending was unexpected at least for me and I would like to read the sequel. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to come across this book from this young author and once again to convince myself that the imagination of young people is truly unique. Overall, while I didn't find myself completely invested in the story, I do see the appeal of it. My rate is 3,5/5 stars Thank you #NetGalley for the e-sampler and to 'Readers First' for providing me with a copy of the book and I wish the new young author success with the next books.
Usually, I read Adult Fantasy, but I decided to take a break from this genre and read something different. Steven is definitely an interesting character, but I liked his girlfriend Freya too. The book is a debut and it's definitely a great start. Now a little about the story itself.
The characters were well built, there were no unnecessary things, and everything went easy and exciting.
