So I’ve used SupaGrill and other cheap brands for smoking meat. However, while there are a decent amount of big chunks, there are also too many smaller pieces (see photo for side by side of large vs small pieces that I separated). Next is flavor.

So far I'm having a hard time actually lighting this charcoal, but I don't have the issue of having small bricks at all. And produces good and mild flavored smoke flavor. I believe this may have been inside one of the larger pieces and so I just want to see if another brand can provide a more consistently pure product.

I added a few chunks of hickory and maple wood chunks just to give it a little more flavor. I was undecided about this lump charcoal, received three replies to my question about the actual weight, two “it’s great” and one “it’s the devil!

The media could not be loaded. Usually piece or two are too large for my 22” Weber, and probably would be for many larger grills too.
