You can turn the microphone off but still have music playing and the lights. I found this ' Mi-Mic TY6086 Kids Karaoke Microphone with Phone Holder and Voice Changer,Multi ' sturdy and well made from good quality materials.

To use this microphone very easy,all controlling on the handle,so convenient and clearly visible. The phone holder is great idea,because really handy and comfortable for karaoke.

The media could not be loaded. Here is interesting and funny function available,your voice can be changed,my kids enjoy using it,really funny. Very easy to connect Bluetooth, just charge, power on, check for nearby Bluetooth devices and connect. However,my all family like this product,and happy to use,so definitely recomend it to all.

I never used the phone holder as it did not feel secure enough for my expensive iPhone as the simple spring-loaded holder let my phone slip out, also did not feel secure when attached to the microphone. The voice changing button is a lot of fun from very high pitch squeaky to very low, this proved to be very funny to use when singing serious songs. The power button also controls the 48 bright LED lights which has three different settings, all lights on, all lights flash in time with the music or the 3rd option which I prefer where the different color lights flash in time with the music.
Also,I like that to pair it by bluetooth takes seconds and did not have any problems yet even kids play with this microphone every day. The echo is either on or off, no way of dialing down the echo and its rather too much for my liking. The only one thing little bit disappointed me,the battery runs out quite quickly.
