I took the advice of other users and ordered the King Size for my Standard Double bed. This doesn't concern me too much as 10 minutes with a sewing machine will put that right when needed.

I got this delivered today, so this is just my initial impression. Not even turned it on yet but it’s very small (a double on my double bed) and I’ve had to lose more of it to make the power connector hang off the side of the bed or I’d lay on it and that would be uncomfortable.

I suspect they will work loose quite quickly and I will have to make a repair at some point in the future. The initial warm up is usually enough to turn it off. 5p. The area under the pillows is not heated and this is quite normal for any brand of heated under blanket.

But do the math and setting three is 10 hours to use one unit of electricity (about 25p) so one hour on three to pre heat the bed is 2. Fits nicely on my super king bed, only issue is the heat connectors stick slightly too far into the bed and can be uncomfortable when trying to sleep. I placed the blanket as instructed at the top of the bed, and the connector sat just under the pillow, unfortunately it is uncomfortable as I often have my hand under the pillow, or my shoulder would rub on it. Forget the myths, this king size blanket is amazing.

What it really needs is a small material extension/flap so that the electric wire extends inside and then the connector could sit on that, it could then fall over the side of the mattress rather than being in top of it. I don’t know where other blankets have the disc, but, looking at this one’s reviews, the placement seems a particular problem. The ties are nylon cord, with taped loops to feed them through when you secure it to the mattress to prevent it moving around as you sleep.
