. My photo shows Ethel actually lying on her heat pad. you might not be able to do this for a younger cat who might scrunch it’s bedding up and expose the pad, as it is considerably hot when first heated. I got this to keep warm because of rising electricity prices.

I do take off the cover AFTER microwaving, and lay it under my cats blanket, but my cat is 19 . You’re using perhaps. If you follow the instructions and heat it a minute each side it is actually hot to touch. Bo water inside.

Only 3 min to heat up and snug to use. Stays warm for at least an hour or more, providing you don’t leave it in a cold room, “open” to the air and it’s either under the clothes you’re wearing or under a blanket? I disagree with a couple of reviews saying it’s not warm. My only disappointment is that this pad is quite hard, and Ethel did not like laying on it at first, but she now recognises when it has been freshly microwaved 😸 It is nice for me to go to bed, and know that Ethel is nice and warm, as she is so frail.
