I love the concept of this book, based on Orthodox fasting - that using natural ingredients you can be vegan in a way that has been followed for centuries. You go in a journey with this book.

I have been looking for something to give me a true sense of Greek Mediterranean cooking froever and "Nistisima" as well as "Taverna" (also by Georgina Hayden) really are just that. I bought this book two weeks ago and I already cooked through 15 of the recipes, made dips and small portions of meze to combine and fall in love with. The book is beautiful- it starts with an introduction explaining that Georgina grew up eating plant-based for many days of the year due to revolving round the Greek Orthodox calendar.

I buy a lot of cookbooks but very few have inspired me in the way this one has done. I highly recommend this cookbook. Lovingly put together and filled with delicious recipes, can't go wrong. They all seem quite simple with most of the ingredients being readily available - more importantly they all look delicious.

After the introduction there are seven more sections covering bread, dips, salads, main meals and then cakes. There are some great spice mixtures to make which I am looking forward to doing.

Have been waiting for this one to drop. Tip: start with the Za'atar buns, they'll really surprise you. The introduction and introducing texts to the recipes give so much knowledge, it's a fun read as well as gives a craving to start cooking. Having had the book a week, I have done four of the recipes already and enjoyed them all.

I love it. I bought this book because I love Greece and Greek food and follow a Vegan lifestyle. The little stories with all the recipes are lovely. I love the use of pulses, garlic, lemon and accessible herbs like parsley and corriander.
