I have long dismissed the newer 5kx designs but after watching Teddy Baldassarres YouTube video it was clear this model was a cut above so I bought one without hesitation. Reliable and accurate gauge. Just what I wanted great service highly recommend I was worried it might be too blingey as I've watched loads of videos of the GMT but it's definitely not.

The friction bezel is firmer than I thought it would be which is definitely a good thing. I also tried another blue strap also from Amazon with the same color as the dial and it also looks very nice on it to change from one to the other. Great service with a stamped guarentee card and a saving of £70 over rrp. The light reflects nicely when it hits the watch but not flashy when it doesn't.

At the end of the day it's just a box that will go in a drawer but for me it's part of the experience of getting a new watch. Let's get the bad out of the way first. Technically flawless: new Seiko production movement, of absolute reliability. I didn’t find any quality control issues on mine, everything is aligned perfectly and the GMT hand works as expected.

Excellent finish and useful hold at 100 meters: the practical watch is perfect for everyday use. I'm well pleased with it. It's a good GMT watch for its price for those of us who still appreciate wearing an automatic watch with a glass bottom to see the caliber, even if we have an Apple Watch on the other hand. 🤷♂️
