I have had a serious issue with Boo scratching anything she could get her wee claws into despite me having multiple scratch posts around the house for her, lavishing lots of attention on her, playing with her, reinforcing the good behaviour she was doing by praising her and giving treats etc when she scratched her posts but it was becoming a very regular habit with her scratching my sofa, bed, fireplace and wallpaper and she was getting told off for it constantly. 😂

After a couple of weeks, even with some decorators in the house, he started coming out of his shell a bit more. We just kept her roam free now, worry free of scratching :) The next test will be trying to introduce him to another human.

The only downside is that this gets used up so fast. Both cats are more relaxed and are more tolerant of and affectionate towards each other, and since we also started giving her cystease tablets the added stress of redecorating hasn't caused any more flare-ups. It comes in a plug in (the one I have, waiting on spray arriving too) or spray form and releases a feline facial pheromone like the ones deposited from a cats cheek when they rub against things to mark their territory to let them know it's theirs and it's a safe place for them and helps to calm them. My older cat wouldn’t allow the younger cat anywhere near her without hissing.
