Leslie Marchand draws upon her various areas of expertise, including clinical social work, yoga, and life coaching to encourage the reader in various practices, from mental exercises that result in written journaling to physical movements that release tension and encourage relaxation. Throughout the journal, Leslie guides the reader in a gentle manner, encouraging necessary self-examination and reflection without inducing shame or guilt. Thoughtful quotes throughout the book from both ancient thinkers as well as modern authors have been some of my favorite pages.
