Before reading THE WOMAN IN THE WHITE KIMONO, I'd never heard of the plight of Japanese women who married American soldiers, but Naoko's evocative and tragic experience exemplified many of the culturally-born horrors of the time. I never knew my father as he was killed in the war, l grew up not knowing who l really was, until in my late thirty's l set out to find his family in the North of England. Really engaging story I could not put it down . Really well written, beautiful descriptions of the setting of the story.

This book is a great read. Bravo to author Ana Johns! I found his brothers and sisters and through them and their memories of my father l found the space inside of me slowly being filled, so l was no longer looking, l knew who l was.

This historical/contemporary novel will work its way into your heart and will never let you go. This book has the same journey albeit female, but it is written in an easy style and is a pleasure to read.
