For example, in chapter 3 there is an amazing two-page spread of a map of a library with tons of cool details to explore. However, the ebook version is a little off. Although the story being told is funny, the illustrations really add to the humour too and I think both make this book so funny, fun and engaging to read. Most of the illustrations are arranged like diagrams or comic strips and I just love the humour in each picture!

I loved reading this from the start as this book first explains how it’s going to tell you a story about the book that no one wanted to read, and explains a bit about books themselves. The idea of a book talking directly to the reader is so funny and engaging, and although I’m already a fan of Ayoade’s humour, this really is a brilliant read and one I would recommend.

Then there are parts of the book that had full page pictures which they turn into tiny little illustrations you can't really read in an ebook. In the ebook that is a tiny illustration under some text. It really doesn’t take that long to get through all the pages as it’s filled with lots of humorous pictures on almost every page too. The book begins with a book telling a story (yes, a book is narrating this book), and the book talks directly to the readers in a very funny and conversational way.

Two copies of this book arrived this morning. The story is brilliant, funny, with a good humour both children and adults would enjoy and I this is easy to pick up even for more reluctant readers due to how the text is broken into smaller sections to read and just makes this quite a quick read too.

‘The Book That No One Wanted to Read’ is a little taller than an average reading book size and is filled with text and thick matt pages of some great illustrations that accompany the story. The ending is brilliant and a great way of encouraging children to be creative, and I just love how this book really involves the reader in a way I wasn’t expecting.

As the story unfolds about the book that no one wanted to read, you find out more about the book and the brilliant conversation it ends up having with someone. It’s laugh out loud funny, equal parts brilliant and sarcastic and written in such a way that allows you to really believe a book can talk. It is off by a page because they leave off a picture.
