Best advice I could give is steer clear of buying musical instruments online and if you can, go and buy one from a physical shop. I thought if it’s a Yamaha it should be ok but unfortunately not! I’m so disappointed with this product. No marks, shiny and all ready to play!

Another reason that made me return it was because, as it is black and the finish of colour is glossy, it will let you see every fingerprint on the guitar! Do I get another one and will it arrive in the same state. The all important intonation is good across the neck and action is just right for the quality of instrument. Obviously, this is something you will get used to after few weeks of playing the guitar but, there was something more which became the main reason I've decided to return it!

As you can find by yourself, there are plenty of good reviews from musicians or professionals on the internet about Yamaha C40 and, this guitar is known to be a good option so does Yamaha. I read many and many reviews on Amazon, watched many Youtube reviews from experts and musicians, and in general, they say good things about C40, the reason why, after a failed order on a Tanglewood discovery, I ended up choosing the Yamaha C40! No, I wouldn't say that! And to be fair, the one they sent was in much better condition and much more like what I expected.

The Yamaha is brilliant value for money, I've just checked the intonation and it's pretty much spot on. I hate to think where that price would be with inflation taken into account. After spending literally weeks in researching for best options in terms of good classical guitars at an affordable price tag, I've decided for Yamaha C40! Is the guitar bad?
