Actually, I noticed that all the extra feature DVDs here are from the various older DVD editions. Extended Blu ray set-For each movie they have 5 discs (2 movie blu ray discs, 2 extra feature DVDs and 1 behind the scene DVD). Some of the greatest motion pictures in cinema are not utterly perfect. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is often considered to be one of the greatest fantasy stories ever to be written.

The Extended Edition is worth every single penny and is the definitive way to watch the movies. Comments are welcome! The two DVDs are from the Extended DVD set, and the one 'behind the scene' is probably pulled from the limited editions of LOTR (the double sided DVDs that New Line Cinema released sometimes back). These DVDs are pulled straight from the older DVD editions, nothing new added there.

It was not until the 1990's that then small time New Zealand film director, Peter Jackson sort to bring Tolkien's trilogy to the big screen with a massive studio budget. Extra feature discs are DVDs and not Blu rays. It's like comparing Monet to the picture on the fridge drawn by my 3 year old nephew.

I could never, ever go back to watching the theatrical editions of the films now, they just don't compare, and to be honest, it would be unfair to compare them. I LOVE The Lord of the Rings TrilogyAll The Films Look Great (But Fellowship Could have Looked Much Better) 7/10The Sound is AMAZING 10/10The Special Features 5/10As A Lord of the Rings fan I Had To Own Both Cuts Of The Trilogy On Blu-rayand for me this set is very good7/10
