The replacement arrived and I started playing around with it. You could see the inside of it quite clearly if you didn't press it back into place, but it'd pop again after a few minutes, slowly opening up again.

I got mine during Prime Day so it was quite cheap. This thing fits in your pocket or book bag or wherever! This little solid-state NVMe drive just blew me away once I plugged it in and started putting things on it.

Honestly, I might never go back to spinning disks again. No additional power supply needed3. Connecting to this is a breeze, and it's been simple to format them with all of the MacOS Sonoma's available file systems (albeit I've only tried with the various APFS versions).
