His character development was done really well, River does come across as a slight grump at the start but luckily it doesn’t last too long and he doesn’t have Daddy issues like most grumpy MMC which is another plus! This story really grew for me, especially from a third into the book. Juggling multiple jobs and motherhood doesn’t leave her with much time to delve into new romantic relationships. The data may have been what told them to head in a certain direction but it was definitely all them and their choices that made this couple worth rooting for - and boy was I rooting for them.
